In Innocent fun or “microslavery”? An ethical analysis of biotic games the authors tell of responses to an online game where players interacted with a single celled organism. Whilst we may think nothing of killing off many such organisms when necessary, there were serious doubts about having control over them in the context of entertainment. Is this reasonable?
